Located in the heart of Cumbria

A small village adjoining Windermere and the River Leven, Newby Bridge is a beautiful river-side setting. Founded around the five-arched stone bridge built across the river in 1651, it caters mainly for passing tourist trade, and has a stop for the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway.


We are situated approximately 15 minutes' drive from junction 36 of the M6 motorway. Just follow the A590 signposted to Barrow and as you enter Newby Bridge you will find us.

Newby Bridge House is ideal for walks around the southern Furness peninsula and Southern Lakes areas. There are 2 pub restaurants in walking distance 100Yrds, The White Swan, (Hotel, Pub, Restaurant & Leisure Club) and The Newby Bridge Hotel.
